This week we run the ever popular Santa Quiteria from Brazil for espresso. This is the first of the coffees through that I bought on my trip this year. What I like about this coffee is the big, rich body with fresh tobacco notes that are elegant enough to be a standout espresso, but big enough to really cut through milk. I have also roasted the Ethiopian Karote as an espresso roast again. This coffee never ceases to amaze with its full chocolatey body, yet delicate floral aromas and fruity sweetness. Because you are all a greedy bunch, and that’s...

Hi All, I'm very excited as this week we have the first of the coffee I bought on this years trip to Brazil. Hacienda Santa Quiteria was a great farm at the end of a city street. It was quiet surreal as there was no long drive on a dirt road to get there, it was just like turning into somebodys driveway. This is the first of the coffee we bought from them an it is full and nutty with hints of fresh tobacco leaves.  We also have an exciting Guatemalan that we have been working on, its a blend but I...

This week we are showcasing some coffees from Mr Berbard Njenga. Mr Njenga owned Sasina Estate, a farm origionally planted by white settlers in the 1940's. Sasina Estate had a neighbouring farm, Machure Estate, which Mr Njenga purchased some yerars later. Although today, the two farms are run as one estate, the coffee produced in different parts of the now huge farm, are very different. The two coffees we have from Mr Njenga are a washed Peaberry Bourbon Hybrid developed by the infamous Scott Laboratories, and a washed Bourbon Ruiri 11 blend. Both coffees are processed in the same washing...

Arrival of our new coffee blend 'Passport'

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new blend, Passport. This blend is a seasonal blend, in every sense of the word. We come across some amazing beans as coffee professionals, and not all of them are produced in quantities that allow us to use them throughout the year.  However we still want to utilise them in blends. As well as this, we don't all like drinking the same coffee all year around. In the scorching summer months, we look for light, refreshing coffees, and in the coldest depth of winter it's all about comfort coffee. Passport is...
